Some days it feels like I’m running an entire media company out of my apartment (I’m not, but the caffeine intake says otherwise).
By title, I’m a marketing specialist. But I’ve always hated titles, they box you in. I care more about clarity than categories.
What I actually do:
Go To Market, except I focus on mapping GTM efforts to creating revenue for the company and providing value for the customer.
I also create across YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok, exploring marketing, AI, strategy, and systems thinking. I host two podcasts:
The 360° Marketing Show – For marketers who want a seat at the table, not just a task list.
Pivot with Anusha Kannan – For anyone navigating career pivots, burnout, or big life shifts.
I also write Context Switch, a newsletter built for marketers who think deeply, act boldly, and hate fluff.

Where it all started
I was that kid with a home library, a self-made stationery brand, and a need to build things from scratch. I studied Information Technology, pivoted into Data Science and Business Analytics, and then landed in Boston for a Master’s in Marketing. That’s where everything clicked.
Internships, fellowships, and real-world consulting projects with the City of Boston shaped the way I think about people, systems, and strategy. That blend became the foundation for how I market today!
The turning point
At JOANN, I worked as a Business Analyst, living at the intersection of data, customer behavior, and campaign strategy. But I realized I didn’t just want to analyze performance; I wanted to shape it.
So I built my own ecosystem.
What I’m building now
I now create under my own name, Anusha Kannan, for a reason: I’m not trying to scale a media empire. I’m trying to scale understanding.

What drives me
I’m a systems thinker with a marketer’s gut and an analyst’s brain. I love taking complex, messy things—like AI models or GTM strategy- and making them readable, watchable, & usable.
I don’t create content to look busy. I create to make something clearer, for myself and for others trying to navigate work, marketing, and meaning in a noisy world.
